You Laid Aside Your Majesty

You Laid Aside Your Majesty
Noel Richards

You laid aside your majesty
gave up everything for me
suffered at the hands
of those You had created
You took all my guilt and shame
when You died and rose again
now today you reign
in heaven and earth exalted

CHORUS:
i really want to worship you, my Lord
You have won my heart and i am Yours
for ever and ever, i will love you
You are the only one who died me
gave Your life to set me free
so i lift my voice to You in adoration

mind-boggling indeed

King of kings, Lord of lords, prince of peace,...
yet allowed Yourself to be clothed in human skin
to be vulnerable,
to suffer injustice,
to be restricted in time & space,
to be away from the Father, away from the intimacy of the Holy Trinity

You showed us what it meant to be fully alive
yet humbled Yourself to the point of death,
death on the cross, the most cruel form of punishment inflicted in the history of mankind

why would You want to do that?
is the human race really worth the effort?
i will never be able to fully understand...
